'Hollywood Exes' Cast: Remember The Time Oprah Winfrey Interviewed Mayte Garica & Prince? [VIDEO]

A vintage video of Prince and Mayte Garcia has surfaced as Garica continues to show love for her late ex-husband on social media.

Garcia and Prince sat down with Oprah Winfrey in his very first interview back in 1996. At the time, Garcia and Prince were blushing newlyweds still and clearly still in a bliss.

Prince said the first time he saw Garcia was in Frankfurt, Germany and immediately knew they would get married one day. As for Garcia, she said they were friends first but could have never guessed he would be her husband.

“I was 16 when I met him, just the idea of meeting him. I was scared… And then when I met him, I just felt calm…”

Awkwardly enough, Prince said he and Garcia said they are “Soul mates” who knew one another in a past life; possibly even as brother and sister.
“I do feel like I’ve come closer to who I aspire to be by being with her,” he added. “She makes it easier to talk to God.”

When it comes to their wedding, Prince said it was pretty traditional but very small.

“We only invited friends and family… Mostly family. There was a big empty section in the church. She said she was glad it was empty because that leaves room for the angels.”

Garcia then gushed about Prince’s romantic side.

“For me the most romantic thing he’s done is write these beautiful songs for me,” she said before revealing that his lyrics played a factor in her getting pregnant.
