Outlander's Jamie and Claire will have to turn on a dime if they wish to reverse the tide of history.

The Highlander and the Sassenach spent the first half of season 2 attempting to stem the doomed Jacobite Rising before it even reached the shores of Scotland. Now that their efforts have come to naught, the Frasers will reverse course, choosing to embrace the coming war in hopes of winning the infamous Battle of Culloden.

"Claire knows from the future, from the 20th century, that it's a failed rebellion,'' Sam Heughan (Jamie) told Entertainment Weekly. "[Now] this is it, the great battle for Highland culture."

With Dougal (Graham McTavish), Rupert (Grant O'Rourke) and Angus (Stephen Walters) by his side, Jamie will begin to train the MacKenzie men in earnest during "Je Suis Prest."

"Claire and Jamie reunite with the Lallybroch and MacKenzie men as they train for war," Starz teased. "Jamie's power struggles with Dougal and Claire's personal battle with her memories of WWII weigh upon them, but new, helpful information comes to light when a young Englishman named William Grey pays a surprise visit to their camp."

For Outlander fans, Claire and Jamie's return to Scotland harbingers a drastic change in tone. Gone is the formality and glitz of Paris. Now is the time for mud, blood, and tartan.

"The show becomes more of a war story once they return to Scotland," executive producer Ron Moore explained. Now the Jacobite rebellion is underway and the war has begun in earnest."
