Two alums from The Voice have put out new EPs this week and are already climbing the charts.

The Voice season 3 winner Cassadee Pope has released her new Summer EP. The album features four tracks including lead single "Summer," which is set to hit country radio next week.

Pope, who was a member of Team Blake Shelton on The Voice, spoke with Parade recently about her inspiration for the title track and also delved into the stigma involved with coming from the singing competition.

"I wanted to write a song that's basically relatable for anybody who's been through a summer romance and make it more of a reminiscing song and less about what's happening right now," Pope said, of her single. "For me, summer romances, they can be powerful and they can be really passionate and beautiful, but they can end just as quickly as they began."

Pope also talked about trying to get over the sense in the industry that those who come from singing competitions are not necessarily paying their dues to get to the top.

"Absolutely," she said, when asked if she's had to prove herself due to people thinking she hasn't paid her dues. "It was this weird mixture of that and, then also, people thinking that because I already had a little bit of a following, that I shouldn't have been able to do The Voice. It was an interesting mixture for me to have to deal with and get through."

She noted, "Having to prove myself again after The Voice, at times, was frustrating but I'm so glad that I did it that way because now I feel like I've gained everybody's respect and it feels really good."

Meanwhile, another contestant from Team Blake has put out an album of his own. Zach Seabaugh, who was a semifinalist on season 9 of The Voice, released his self-titled EP this week, featuring five songs.

Like Pope, Seabaugh's lead single, "Nothing Good Happens After Midnight," is a summer-friendly song.

"It's a fun, summertime song," Seabaugh told The Marietta Daily Journal. "I knew I would be releasing my first original music in the summer, and with the Cobb Energy (Performing Arts Centre) show coming, I wanted a fun, upbeat song kids my age could jam along to and older crowds could laugh about while looking back on their high school experiences."
