Nyle DiMarco just won Dancing With the Stars, but is he one of the show's best winners ever?

DiMarco and his partner, Peta Murgatroyd, were given the Mirrorball trophy on Tuesday, defeating fellow season 22 finalists Paige VanZant and Mark Ballas and Ginger Zee and Val Chmerkovskiy. The win signaled a big milestone as well, with DiMarco being the first deaf person to win Dancing With the Stars.

DiMarco maintained a solid frontrunner status throughout the competition, with his excellent dance skills made all the more impressive considering his inability to hear the beat of the music during his performances. However, he also did have strong competition from VanZant and Zee as well as semifinalists Wanyá Morris and Antonio Brown.

The model also had some of the most memorable performances of the season and, as history may dictate, of all time.

During Week 8, DiMarco and Murgatroyd danced to the song "Victorious" by Panic! at the Disco and included a silent section where the music totally dropped out, allowing viewers to experience what DiMarco experiences.

The model spoke about this dance this week, revealing that it to be when he realized he might win the show.

"That really hit me hard, and I felt like, 'I have the potential of winning this,' because I could feel the audience really connecting to me, and I thought that was the whole point of me being on Dancing with the Stars," he said. "It wasn't about the dancing itself, it was about me connecting to the audience."

There was also the tango during the Semifinals where DiMarco performed part of the dance blindfolded. Then, his freestyle during finals set to "The Sound of Silence" was emotional, raw and haunting.

Dancing With the Stars has had many memorable and excellent winners lately, from Bindi Irwin to Alfonso Ribeiro to Meryl Davis. Will DiMarco be remembered as one of the best in the overall lineup of winners? Vote in our poll below.
