The Night Shift will heat up with back-to-back episodes this June.

Summer is nearly upon us, and tempers will flare as temperatures soar at San Antonio Medical. The NBC series will air "Get Busy Livin'" and "Hot in the City" as a double header on June 29, giving fans a chance to catch up on a little drama before the long holiday weekend.

Episode 5 will kick off at 9 p.m. when a terminal patient goes Lifetime on Jordan (Jill Flint) and doles out a few pearls of wisdom about living life to the fullest.

"A college co-ed falls from a balcony and once she is in the ER, TC (Eoin Macken) and Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) find that her situation is even more complex," NBC teased. "TC's errant sister-in-law Annie (guest star Sarah Jane Morris) returns and hopes to make amends. Meanwhile, AnnaLynne McCord guest stars as Jessica - a pharmaceutical rep with cutting-edge equipment that Scott (Scott Wolf) is so close to getting for the hospital - if her tension with TC doesn't kill the deal."

At 10 p.m., a heat wave will roll through Texas. Even on their night out, the Night Shift squad will be swamped with cases. With Annie still in town, TC will need to ice his temper as well.

"Shannon (Tanaya Beatty) and Jordan venture out for some fun at a local wrestling event only to find themselves treating people on site when a fight breaks out amongst the audience," NBC revealed. "Back at the hospital, Sam (guest star Michael Cassidy) attends to a marathon runner who has collapsed from the heat and things start to heat up even more when the air conditioning breaks. Meanwhile, tensions between TC, Jordan, Sam, and Annie start to boil."
