The media is learning more about the man who has caused the bloodiest domestic mass murder the country has even seen, along with new details about his family. There's a new report that says Omar Mateen, who is the suspected shooter that killed 50 people and left another 50 critically injured, not only pledged his allegiance to ISIS before the mass murder, but that his father, Seddique Mateen, might also be a supporter of the Afghan Taliban.

According to the Daily Mail, Seddqiue is an Afghan-born resident of Fort Pierce, Florida who hosts the Durand Jirga Show on the Payam-e-Afghan channel, which is broadcast from California. There are supposedly several posts under his YouTube account in which he talks about a number of political issues in his native Dari.

The site says that posts include, "Rise Afghan people against Pakistan' and 'Intelligent service and Military of Pakistan real Enemy of the USA (sic)."

He also says in one clip, "ur brothers in Waziristan, our warrior brothers in [the] Taliban movement and national Afghan Taliban are rising up. Inshallah the Durand Line issue will be solved soon."

Yet, according to USA Today, Saddique says that he doesn't know the motive behind his son's attack other than he was left angry after seeing two men kissing at a beach in Miami several months ago.

He said, "I apologize for what my son did. I don't know why he did it. He is dead, so I can't ask him. I wish I knew," before adding, "This has nothing to do with religion."

Omar Mateen's family has made no further comments.
