The showrunners of Bates Motel gave some more insight on what's about to down in the final season.

On Wednesday, Deadline shared details from Kerry Ehrin and Carlton Cuse as they work on the remaining episodes following the death of Norman's mother.

Considering that the movie Psycho, which this series is based on, plays into that realm, it's safe to say that it was known that Norma would die at some point. So odds are likely that Norman will embrace his insanity even more especially when a certain shower victim arrives.

The final season of the A&E series will introduce Marion Crane who's known as one of the most iconic horror movie victims ever.

It appears that the showrunners know what the conclusion will be, but they're working on the process of reaching that zone.

"We have guideposts and we know the destination," Ehrin said. "How exactly we're going to get there...that's kind of the fun of writing it, and that's what we'll be doing when we get back in the writers' room."

And even with Marion's upcoming appearance, it doesn't necessarily mean that she'll show up in the exact same way she did in the Alfred Hitchcock film.

"I don't think the writers necessarily see the show ending with Marion Crane pulling up to the house and it being like, 'Norman's arrived,' you know?" Cuse said. "There's certainly this openness as we get towards next season of moving past events in Psycho, or there's that fluidity with the storytelling."

However it happens, it's definitely going to be worth the wait.

"I think history will be very kind to Bates Motel," Cuse said.

Bates Motel Season 5 is expected to premiere sometime next year on A&E.
