Is Jennifer Garner leaning on an ex-boyfriend as she prepares to divorce Ben Affleck, the father of her three children?

According to a new report, the 43-year-old actress has been reaching out “constantly” to Michael Vartan, her former Alias co-star, who she dated in 2004.

“She’s always crying on Michael’s shoulder,” an insider revealed to Radar Online on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Affleck is reportedly on to their alleged relationship and convinced something is going on between them.

“Ben thinks something is going on with her and Michael,” noted the insider, “but he doesn’t know if it’s just manipulative to piss him off or if it’s legit they would like to get back together.”
Affleck has said that “Jennifer is very careful with her electronic devices,” added the insider.

While Vartan hasn’t directly addressed the recent report regarding his possible communication with Garner, he recently split from wife Lauren Skaar and has said he and Garner are still friends.

“Jennifer and I were best friends first, during [our relationship] and after,” he said.

As for Garner, she addressed her highly publicized split from Affleck, and the allegations of his affair with former nanny Christine Ouzounian, during an interview with Vanity Fair weeks ago.

“Let me just tell you something,” Garner said. “We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes. It’s not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives.”

Regarding her marriage to Affleck, Garner has no regrets.

"I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again,” she said. "You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”
