Blindspot has mastered the number one goal of the hiatus - to keep the theories flowing fast and furious. Jane Doe's identity is in flux once again, and the cast is keeping fans on their toes with a smattering of summertime teasers.

Weller's (Sullivan Stapleton) father made a deathbed proclamation that separated Taylor Shaw and Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) once and for all. Despite what the DNA tests might say, the FBI's tattooed amnesiac is not a ghost Weller's past. That being said, season 2 will give viewers a look at the heroine's mysterious past.

"It's interesting she hasn't remembered her childhood yet, so I'm guessing maybe that she was some sort of orphan that was conditioned to be this way, that was brought up maybe in some sort of secret society or something," Alexander told Entertainment Weekly.

Season 1 provided viewers with a terrifying look at young Jane's surroundings - some bleak, sub-Saharan hidey-hole that would fuel any number of night terrors - but season 2 will introduce us to the girl herself. Blindspot is looking for a youngster age 9 to 11 who comes equipped with a background in gymnastics or martial arts, has a passable South African accent, and bears a resemblance to Jaimie Alexander, according to TV Line.

Despite the ongoing mystery, Blindspot will furnish the FBI team with one major detail as the premiere begins. As of Sept. 14, the Jane Doe sobriquet will be no more.

"You're going to find out exactly who she is in the first episode of next season, so it's not like we needed that for additional mystery," series creator Martin Gero told TV Line.

Get ready for answers when Blindspot returns to NBC Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. ET. The series will then move to Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET starting on Sept. 21.
