Dragon Ball Super might have missed its airing date last week due to the 2016 Rio Olympics, but its brief absence has not deterred fans' excitement over the next episodes in the ongoing series.

The next episode, titled I Want to Meet Son Goku, A Summons from the Omni King! Is set to be aired this coming Sunday, August 21. Just as it is with other episodes in the ongoing Future Trunks saga, it seems like the upcoming episodes would feature a number of important plot developments.

Zamasu Finally Turns Full Evil?

One thing that can be determined from the previews shown thus far is the fact that the current arc's possible main villain, Zamasu, is giving back the green Potara earring to his master, Gowasu. Considering Zamasu's mental state and his tendency to believe that mortals are the bane of the universe, many fans are speculating that the apprentice Kaioshin would end up murdering his master in the next episode.

This particular rumor actually has some credence to it. For one, the fact that the Omni King is seeing Son Goku personally means that the all-powerful being will be actively involved in the events of the current Dragon Ball Super arc.

With the Omni King's level of power, however, the anime would need to find a workaround to prevent him from being just a convenient Deus Ex Machina against the threat of Black Goku. Thus, Zamasu tampering with something as delicate as time would be an ideal factor why the Omni King could not just personally eliminate Black Goku.

The Climax of the Future Trunks Arc

With the current developments in Dragon Ball Super's plot, it is quite safe to assume that the anime is nearing the current story's climax. Indeed, the pieces of the puzzle surrounding Black Goku are slowly coming into place, and it is only a matter of time before the key players of the arc clash for a final, climactic time.

This has led many fans to speculate that the anime might feature a different end to the usual Dragon Ball Super arc. That is, it would not be Son Goku who would deal the finishing blow to the villainous Black Goku. Rather, it would either be Vegeta or Future Trunks -- two characters who have a personal vendetta against Black Goku.

Considering that the rematch between Son Goku and Black Goku is scheduled to be aired later this month, many fans are assuming that the climactic battle against Black Goku, and possibly Zamasu, might start sometime in September. Either way, it seems certain that 2016 would end with one of the most intense arcs in Dragon Ball history ending with a very massive bang.
