Three beloved older actors are set to guest star in the final season of Fox's Bones!

Ed Asner, Hal Holbrook and June Squibb are all slated to appear in the third episode of the final season of Bones, according to TVLine.

Asner will play Mike Mancuso, an older man who seems kind but has a duplicitous side. Holbrook, is paying Red Fletcher, a war veteran with a steely disposition similar to Booth (David Boreanaz).

As for Squibb, the Oscar-nominated actress is set to play a resident at a retirement home that "you do not want to make angry."

The final season is also set to feature the wedding of Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo (Pej Vahdat), which co-showrunner Jonathan Collier told TVLine would be smaller - at least smaller than the wedding of the show's main characters.

"I think [we had our] big wedding with Brennan and Booth," he said. "So let's just say that it's going to be exciting and different."

In other Bones news, producers are still trying to work out the plan for the series finale. TVLine reports that the final episode will only be an hour, as of now at least, though it's possible that Fox could double up the penultimate episode with the final one and call it a "two-hour finale event."

Collier expressed that he still wanted Bones creator Hart Hanson to "either write or co-write" the finale along with former executive producer Stephen Nathan, adding, "He's been very, very, very involved in discussing the series. He's the best person in history to inherit a show from because he gives you his blessing. He's handed over the show to us, but he is also very available to us."

Bones season 12 premieres at some point in 2017, though Fox has not announced an official premiere date.
