Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and is also one that can be enjoyed all day long as well, and with waffles potentially being one of the best breakfast foods out there, National Waffle Day seems like the perfect day to celebrate with free food.

Several locations have great deals available for the holiday, which is today, August 24, with free and discounted meals for most or all of the day. Here's where you can find some of the best ones out there:

Coco's Bakery Restaurant: There isn't a specific deal for Waffle Day itself, but those with kids can take advantage through September 29th by heading to any location after 4 p.m. Monday-Friday, as kids eat for only $1.99

Comfort Inn and Suites: First responders and others can enjoy free signature waffles at any hotel's breakfast area to celebrate the holiday and to serve as a thank you for the things they do for their local communities.

Denny's: While they also have no waffle specific deals, the entire month of August is devoted to promoting the chain's new pancake recipe, and anyone who tries them and doesn't love them, can have their pancakes for free

IHOP: Now through September 25th, order any adult entrée between 4-10 p.m. and get a kid's meal for free (which can include a Jr. Chicken and Waffles platter)  

Louisiana State University: The university is having a semester kick-off party on the Parade Grounds by offering Free Chicken and Waffles and Lice Music for all students

University of Texas Arlington: As part of a welcome back to students, the university housing department is hosting a Waffleopolis event for students to enjoy free waffles and toppings and music
