He came back to mourn the loss of one daughter and try to reconnect with the other family he left behind, but Eduardo (A. Martinez) may now find himself forced to leave Salem behind after he can't quite seem to shake his past on Days of Our Lives.

Since coming back he's been threatened by fellow former assassins, and dealt with other crises that were related to his past. That past and the truth behind it has also led to his not being given another chance with Adriana (Alma Delfina), and has even led to a further strained relationship with his son Dario (Jordi Villasousa), though Rafe (Galen Gering) and Gabi (Camila Banus) have been more welcoming.

However, following the threatening note he received (which Adriana saw, and led to her decision to not pursue another romantic chapter with her ex), and the attack on Gabi at the park, he will decide that he is too much of a threat to his family's safety and happiness, and he will gather them all together and announce that he is going to leave Salem to give them the lives they deserve, without threat of his past hurting them again.

Despite being attacked, Gabi will be devastated by her father's decision to leave again, especially since he has also grown close to his granddaughter, but when he reveals that the attack on her could only be the beginning of things to come if he stays, even Gabi could be persuaded to agree that the time has come for him disappear for a while.

However, what no one else knows just yet is that Gabi's attack was not actually related to Eduardo's past at all, or even the threats against him. In fact, Dario decided to set things up so that it would look bad on his father, and perhaps persuade him to leave for good. And now, it appears his plan is working, though if the truth is discovered it could once again change things in the family's dynamic.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
