Pictures of the Nintendo NX have reportedly been leaked, as the console's release date nears. Lately, more news about the next-gen gaming console has been surfacing online.

Considering the current reception this most recent leak, however, numerous Nintendo fans are hoping that the images in the leak would not make it to the upcoming console's final design.

Leaked Image Tweeted

The alleged leaked Nintendo NX image was posted by a Twitter user who uses the handle @guythefighter. Though the description in the tweet was in Japanese, a basic translation of the message simply states that the image came from Nintendo and that no answers to inquiries could be given at present.

While the leak could not really be confirmed adequately, many Nintendo fans are hoping that the real NX would be far different from the leaked image.

Leaked Image Riddled with Issues

There are many flaws that could immediately be seen in the alleged Nintendo NX leak. While the rumor mill has been pretty consistent with the notion of the NX having detachable controllers, the ergonomics of the leaked image are simply off.

For one, the leak alleges that the NX would feature a fairly large central screen that can be tucked away within the controller. As much as this concept is pretty cool, the technology for foldable displays has not really made it to mainstream IT yet. Thus, the chances of the NX having a flexible screen are very slim.

Another notable issue with the design is pretty simple: ergonomics. The alleged gamepads are definitely a step back from previous console generations, as it looks very clunky and uncomfortable to hold. With the NX targeting casual players, making sure that the device's controllers are easy to hold must be of prime importance.

Another False Leak?

Alleged Nintendo NX leaks are not at all unique. Previously, a couple of 3D-printed Nintendo NX controller concepts went viral over the internet, and if it wasn't for the models' creator stepping forward and declaring that the renders were not from Nintendo, the gaming community would have easily considered the leaked images plausible.

Thus, with this recent leak, it would be best to take it with a grain of salt. After all, the release of the Nintendo NX draws ever nearer. Thus, it would not be long before gamers can actually behold the device.
