The upcoming Survivor premiere will feature a first for the long-running reality show.

It's hard to believe that Survivor could still be featuring "firsts" a full 33 seasons in, but such is the case in the Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X premiere. Survivor castaways have dealt with everything from torrential downpours to dangerous lightning to flooding to fire burning down the camp in past seasons, but there hasn't been anything quite like this.

On Day 2 of the game, a cyclone ripped through Fiji, causing production to try and get the castaways out of harm's way. Luckily they were able to do so, as described in a new Entertainment Weekly report.

"For 32 seasons of 'Survivor', we've been very lucky to have escaped some severe storms," Probst told the publication. "This time, the storm caught us. It was only day two and in a matter of hours, a nice afternoon turned into a severe rainstorm that kept growing in intensity by the hour. We were monitoring the weather minute by minute back at base camp. When the national Fijian weather service upgraded it to a cyclone, we had to evacuate both tribes from their beaches and get them to safety. We have never had to evacuate tribes in 32 seasons of 'Survivor'."

The host previously teased to EW that the weather impacts the season early on in the game, adding, "it was scary. But it works out alright."

The upcoming season of Survivor pits two generations against each other. Millennials, a.k.a. twentysomethings and a handful of people in their early 30s, will be competing against Generation X, a.k.a. 30 and above. Which generation will come out on top?

Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X premieres Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
