Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 is still one of the most anticipated laptops to date and tech analysts believe that fans won't have to wait much longer. Another exciting speculation is that the new MacBook Air will be released the same time as the MacBook Pro.

ITech Post reports Rhoda Alexander, director of Tablet and Notebook PCs at IHS Markit Technology, told Forbes that it is possible that the release date of both laptops will officially be announced in the next couple of weeks. She explained that since the production started in the second quarter of the year, it is estimated that the devices will arrive sometime in October. This follows the rumor that the new MacBook Pro will make its appearance at an Apple event that will happen next week.

Alexander also made some predictions on the possible specs of the new laptops. She said that since the production only started this year, the MacBook Pro 2016 or the MacBook Air 2016 are unlikely to be powered by Intel's Kaby Lake chips; however, they may come with a Skylake processor instead.

According to Inquisitr, it is believed that Apple plans to upgrade the graphical performance of the MacBook Pro line with the latest AMD graphics cards. But Alexander has claimed that this would be unlikely since Apple may choose the AMD GPU instead.

It is expected that the MacBook Pro 2016 will have a thinner and lighter body compared to its predecessor. This was done so that it can compete well with the MacBook Air. It was reported that to be able to achieve this, Apple is producing a flatter keyboard for the laptop.

On the other hand, MacBook Air 2016 will not have an 11-inch variant because of the 15-inch option. It is also expected to be thinner and lighter than the existing design. Other specs include new cooling modules and larger batters for longer life.

As of writing, Apple has yet to confirm the release dates for both laptops.
