The news about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce took the world by storm last week, and no sooner did the announcement come that the pair was splitting up that Pitt's ex Jennifer Aniston was dragged into the mess--and now, her husband and best friend are asking for her to stop being dragged into the mess.

After endless memes of Aniston filled social media, showing her laughing and making faces as if she was enjoying the news, reports surfaced that she "knew" it would happen one day and that she felt "karma" had finally done its job, after Jolie and Pitt's affair led to her marriage to Pitt ending. Now though, her former Friends co-star and best friend, Courteney Cox is speaking out, asking that her friend stop being dragged into the mess because the story isn't even about her at all.

"It's not about [Jennifer,]" Cox told Entertainment Tonight. "I feel like we're exacerbating it by even talking about it."

Cox isn't the only one who has spoken out on Aniston's behalf when it comes to her name being thrown around in the divorce drama. Her current husband, Justin Theroux, whom she married in 2015, has also spoken out about what he feels are "nonsense" attempts to bring his wife into a situation she's not a part of.

"There's an endless appetite for trash apparently--though everyone would say that they don't have that appetite," he told Business Insider. "But I think a lot of people do because people buy it. But there are bigger things to b**ch about. It's shocking how much bandwith things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world."

He also commented on the divorce in relation to Pitt and Jolie's six children--Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne--saying that he felt bad for them because he understood how hard it can be to watch your parents split up.

"As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children, and that's all you really can say," he said. It's boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time--that's horrible."

Aniston has remained publicly silent about the split since it was announced.
