Google has already made the announcement that it will have its next product launch event on October 4th, 2016. As the date comes closer, rumours, speculations and leaks about the list of products to be unveiled are going as a viral topic all around. As per a number of updates, Google is expected to launch a pair of Pixel smartphones, a VR headset, a Wi-Fi router, the Amazon Echo-alike Google Home, and a 4K-capable digital media player.

Evan Blass, also popularly known for his @evleaks on twitter, with insights about the company's plans, confirmed that the 4K-capable digital media player will be branded as Google Chromecast Ultra in his recent tweet. Blass also mentioned that the device will be launched and run initially in a firmware version 1.21. A beta version of that same firmware was recently revealed to the testers in Chromecast Preview programme.

It is also hinted that Chromecast Ultra will be sold along with the existing high definition Chromecast dongle which was released last year. According to a report by Android Police, despite the current instance of Chromecast which is being retailed only for $35, the upcoming one will cost a customer nearly double at $69. The superlative device is hinted to be capable of streaming content with 4K resolution from a device much lower than its resolution, like a smartphone, to an HDMI-equipped display.

According to another report published by PCWorld, as Blass has only showcased an instance of the alleged product in black colour, it has not been cleared that whether the product will be launched in same colour options that it's standard high definition version has. Speculations about the device being unveiled in a number of variants with high-end developments have already started booming among the tech enthusiasts.

Another question that has made some measures of contradictions about the product is whether it will be called as Chormecast or not, as there is no sign of any chrome logo seen in the preview picture of the device. Rather, in the picture, a Google logo marked "G" can be seen clearly. Although, Blass has confidently made it clear in his post that the device will be named as 'Google Chromecast Ultra' only. However, we have to wait till October 4th, 2016 to know more about the actual product.
