With Black Friday and the holiday shopping season rapidly approaching and officially just under one month away, big announcements are being made by several top retailers as they try to convince shoppers to remain loyal to them during the holidays.  

Toys R Us and Sam's Club have both officially made announcements about their plans for new ways to ensure that their shoppers will continue to save throughout the season.  

In a press release, Toys R Us has announced a new expanded price match policy  and acceptance of competitors' digital and print coupons, which will allow Toys R Us and Babies R Us to match local retail competitors and 20 major online competitors, including Amazon, baby Depot, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, buybuy BABY, diapers.com, Fred Meyer, GameStop, Hobby Lobby, JCPenney, Kmart, Kohl's, LEGO, Macy's, Meijer, Michael's, Sears, Target, Walmart and YoYo.com.  

"As the authority on toys and baby products, we believe shoppers should be able to buy from us with the confidence they are receiving the best available price possible," Dave Brandon, Chairman and CEO said in the release. "Our unmatched assortment of products, couples with our updated Price Match Guarantee, gives people a reason to choose us-this holiday season, and all-year round."  

In addition, the company is also offering an extended return policy on electronics including virtual reality devices, drones and Segways, upping the 15-day window to a 30 day one instead.  

Meanwhile, Sam's has revealed their new Scan & Go mobile app which allows members to scan as they go, pay from their phone, and then show a digital recept as they leave, allowing them to completely bypass the checkout lane at clubs nationwide.  

The company is also unveiling several special savings events for members as well, kicking things off with a One Day Only event starting at 7 a.m. on Sat. Nov. 12, which will feature some of the lowest prices of the season on electronics and items for the home. Another event will take place on Nov. 19, with savings on electronics from 4K televisions to smartphones and tablets, and will continue with other savings through Nov. 23. There will also be three Taste of Sam's Events Nov. 19-23, Dec. 9-11 and Dec. 16-18 which will offer members an opportunity to "taste before they buy" with samples of fod available throughout the day.  

There will also be more deals during the Black Friday sale, which begins in clubs on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7 a.m., followed by Cyber Week beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday. Nov. 27 through Friday, Dec. 2, as well as an online Shocking Values Frenzy Dec. 5-Dec. 9, and a Last Minute Gifts Event on Dec. 17, both online and in-club.  

Target has not made any official announcements regarding their plans for the holiday season, though there have been rumors that they will be offering Free Shipping on all Target.com orders from Oct. 30-Dec. 25.
