Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have reportedly broken up for now after three years of dating.

PEOPLE reported on Saturday that the Twilight co-stars decided to split after weeks of rumors that the two were having trouble in their romance. Sources noted that it was possible the two would reunite but for now, the relationship was over. The news comes on the heels of Pattinson blowing off a 27th birthday party that Stewart planned for him.

A friend of Stewart's told Hollywood Life that she went out of her way to make Pattinson's birthday a special one. She had invited all of his friends to come over and swim at their pool, but Pattinson blew off the party at the last minute.

"At the last minute, Rob said he didn't want to make his birthday a big deal and said he was just going to hang with the guys. Well obviously this completely pissed off Kristen," the source said.

Stewart and Pattinson's conflicting schedules were also making it difficult for the former couple to spend some time together. An insider told E! News that the two movie stars had separate priorities and were spending a lot of time apart.

"They seem to be living separate lives at the moment, I haven't seen her around at all," the source said.

This would be the second breakup for the stars that first separated in July of 2012. Stewart publicly admitted that she cheated on Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. Stewart issued a statement and apologized for the hurt she caused Pattinson.

"This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob," she said.

Stewart and Pattinson reconciled that September but some in their inner circle claimed that their relationship was not like it was before. Sources close to Stewart said that she felt Pattinson was treating her differently. He was no longer as doting as he previously had been.

"He's not as into it as he was before the cheating - not giving her special treatment like he used to. She feels unloved and that's why they fought. They're not split, but they're holding on by a string," a source said.

Representatives for Pattinson and Stewart have not yet commented on the reported breakup.
