The NVIDIA Shield Android TV has been introduced in Game Developers Conference 2015 claiming to be one of the best Android TV set-up ever made. This device is now expected to make its first appearance at Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2017.

TweakTown has learned that the Graphics Card manufacturer NVIDIA may release two new Shield TV consoles next year. It will consist of a standard model with an accompanying controller and remote, and a smaller set-top box that might have lower specs for reduction of price. Additionally, it is also probable that the upcoming Shield TV duo may be based on NVIDIA's next-gen Parker Tegra X2 SoC. This uses a Pascal GPU and is based on the 16nm FinFET process.

When it comes with the specs, Gamenguide reported that the Shield Controller which is the standard model will have Bluetooth Low Energy for its connectivity. This may also be the same with Shield Remote.

With this technology the accessories can be used for a longer period of time without affecting performance and responsiveness. Nevertheless, there are talks that range may be reduced with this new adjustment. Also, the NVIDIA Shield Controller may become slimmer and its battery may be enhanced as well.

On the other hand, the NVIDIA Shield Android TV reboot will sport 802.11 ac WiFi support and MIMO antennas that will offer its users a faster and more reliable internet connection. This device will still feature 4K resolution, although it is still indefinite whether a Pro variant packed with a higher storage capacity will also follow. As for the price of the upcoming TV, NVIDIA hasn't confirmed anything yet.

Moreover, the above-mentioned details about the NVIDIA Shield Android TV are just based on speculations so it is advised to be taken with a grain of salt. But then, the tech company will surely unveil all the information about the handset on CES 2017.
