Comedian Sinbad is broke and has declared himself as bankrupt, according to reports.

The 56-year-old actor, whose real name is David Adkins filed for bankruptcy on April 13, claiming that he has $131,000 to his name in assets, but owes $10.9 million to firms including American Express and Bank of America.

Sinbad, most known for his roles in Houseguest and Jingle All the Way said he owes $374,979 to American Express, $32,199 to Bank of America, and $2.3 million to the CA Franchise Tax Board, TMZ reported.

According to the bankruptcy documents obtained by the publication, the actor only earns $16,000 per month and doesn't have enough money to pay his bills.

Sinbad also has unpaid state and federal taxes backed up from 2009 to 2012. He claims that he owes a total of $8.3 million to the IRS.

Although the comedian owes millions to the goverment, he still has some possessions worth some value, which include a 2010 Ford F150, a 2010 Lincoln Navigator, a 2007 BMW 750i, a 2006 Volkswagen Beetle, $5,000 in home office equipment and 200 copies of Sinbad's Guide to Life listed on Amazon.com at $6.75 a book.

Back in 2009, Sinbad filed for bankruptcy in 2009 but the case was thrown out because he failed to file the correct paperwork.

Sinbad isn't the only celebrity who has been experiencing money problems.

CSI star Gary Dourdan said that his bills were becoming so overwhelming that his only choice was to file bankruptcy.

The actor claimed he filed an injuction against Wells Fargo to keep his home from going into foreclosure, indicating that the company didn't allow him to work out a payment plan he could afford.

According to reports, Dourdan said he owes $1.73 million in debt but only has $1.8 million in assets, and the cost of living has become too much for him to afford. After the bills, he is only left with around $300 a month.
