It seemed like they would finally make peace on Christmas with a surprise visit involving baby Christian, but Nick (Joshua Morrow) won't hesitate to quickly remind Dylan (Steve Burton) that he and Sharon (Sharon Case) are not the boy's parents on The Young and the Restless.

After fights about him and Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) led to the young girl deciding to live with her grandparents for the time being, Nick brought Christian over to see Sharon and Dylan on Christmas, and the move is one both of them, as well as Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) will take as a positive sign that the freeze between them is starting to melt, and Nick and Dylan will be able to act like brothers again.

"Nicholas made a beautiful gesture," Nikki says to Sharon in a preview clip for the Monday, Dec. 26 episode. "One that I'm sure will help he and his brother get closer together."

However, when Dylan runs into Nick in town and offers to help with Christian whenever he wants, thinking the move means that he will get to have time with the boy he thought was his son, he will quickly be reminded of how mistaken he is, when Nick says he doesn't want Dylan and Sharon getting to close to Christian so he doesn't wind up confused about just who his family actually is.

"That was a one-shot deal. I don't want you to think that was an invitation to change the rules," Nick says in the clip.

The news will strike Dylan hard, and in his already emotionally fragile state over the situation, it could cause him to finally snap, something that will prove to be dangerous as he prepares to embark on a tough case.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
