Microsoft Corporation's fans have been eagerly waiting for the Xbox Scorpio to hit the market shelves. Although there is still to concrete information about the console's launch, Phil Spencer posted on a social networking site that he is really happy with the device's development.

According to WCCFTech, after the E3 last year, Microsoft Corporation hasn't uttered a lot of details about the Xbox Scorpio. But recently, Xbox's Head Phil Spencer stated that it appears like things are indeed proceeding nicely with the development of the console. On his official Twitter profile, Phil Spencer posted that he's really happy on how the Xbox Scorpio development is taking place. He also noted how the design team is doing their "thing" once more.

As for the specs, Cinema Blend reported that Xbox Scorpio will apparently run all of the Xbox One software and it may also offer gamers 4K gaming competences. The said console is reportedly being created to compete directly with the PS4 Pro, which was released last year not just offering 4K gaming, but also help give the VR market a push by delivering a more performance appetizing substitute to the vanilla PS4.

Microsoft hasn't precisely said whether or not the extra power under the hood of the Xbox Scorpio will be utilized to benefit a VR component for the Xbox brand. But then, there are rumors stating that Microsoft may be working with Oculus to offer a home console solution for the Rift VR headset on the Xbox platform.

It was also noted that Microsoft has been tight-lipped about the VR feature, possibly seeing how well the PlayStation VR does on the market before promising to anything serious for the Xbox brand. As an alternative, the focus on the Xbox Scorpio has been 4K gaming, which has been a bit of a buzz phrase for Sony and Microsoft. The 4K gaming is more of a fanatic benchmarking target rather than an identical gaming resolution. Hitting 4K is agreeable but then it is safe to keep in mind that most gamers are contented at 1080p or 1440p at 60fps.

Microsoft might release the Xbox Scorpio this year but the company hasn't confirmed that information as of the moment. But then, one thing is sure and that is Scorpio's development is really progressing since Phil Spencer is happy with it.
