A comparison was reportedly made analyzing the performance of integrated GPUs in Intel Core i7 7700K and AMD A10 7700K solutions, two processors that despite having the same numbering, fall into very different ranges. The i7 is the latest generation in the Intel mainstream Core Series while the A10 is not even the highest performing APU from AMD. The i7 has double the qualifying capabilities and is simply a more modern and capable platform.

Intel HD Graphics have been ever improving but always fell short of AMDs IGP offerings of their R series found on their APU line. Apparently, Intel's Broadwell i5-5675C and i7-5775C with Iris Pro Graphics 6200 brought the pain. The comparison is done to see how far Intel's HD Graphics have evolve and how well AMD's R series on die graphics have sustained.

The CPU of Core i7 7700K reportedly is of latest generation and is manufactured in 14 nm. It supplements four cores and eight wires at 4.2 GHz-4.5 GHz in normal and turbo mode. It has an integrated GPU HD 630 with 24 units of execution at 1150 MHz.

The AMD A10-7700K CPU is based on the Steamroller architecture and manufactured in 28 nm process. It has four cores at 3.4 GHz-3.8 GHz in normal and turbo mode, and comes with a Radeon R7 GPU with 384 shaders at 720 MHz.

Seemingly, Core i7 7700K is much more powerful at the CPU level, but what about GPU performance? It was revealed that Intel has greatly improved the performance of its integrated graphics solutions, such that the HD 630 is almost at the same level as the Radeon R7 at 720p. However, the AMD A10-7700K CPU offers higher minimum frame rates, which renders into a more stable gaming experience.

Apparently, the Intel HD 630 boons some graphical errors in certain games that do not occur in the Radeon R7, which must be caused by a problem with the drivers. To sum it all, it can be gleaned that AMD's APUs remain a very good option for building low-cost gaming centric devices and Intel's dedicated graphics solutions continue to move forward and are fully feasible to play in HD.
