Nevertheless, the latest leak has shed some light as some details indicated the device's release date and it also reveals some important details. The upcoming smartphone from the Chinese tech giant was recently spotted on an online certification website which is the China Quality Certification Center that is also known as 3C.

Nonetheless, instead of just one device, the listing exposes five different Xiaomi models that have gone through the certification. The handsets were listed under model numbers 2105212, 2016089, 2016101, MAE136 and MBE6A5, the MAE136 is supposed to be the Mi 5C which also has a code name; Meri.

As for the specs and features, Android Headlines noted that the Xiaomi Mi 5C will use a 5V/2A power adapter, which indicated that the handset won't be having a fast charging technology. Also, it was noted that it seems quite odd to anticipate that the company's mid-ranger will arrive with fast charging capabilities.

The Xiaomi Mi 5C is also speculated to hit the market shelves sporting Xiaomi's in-house SoC which is called the Pinecone SoC. This chipset seems to be a mid-range processor. Aside from that, the forthcoming smartphone will perhaps sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage.
