Corinne Olympios has consistently made headlines since debuting on the current season of The Bachelor, and now, after several negative comments about her and rumors have swirled, her mother, Peri, is sticking up for her daughter and defending her.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Peri discussed the social media bullying that her daughter has endured since the show premiered earlier this month, saying she would protect her daughter no matter what after people have been saying awful things about her.

"Corinne is a very smart, bright, wonderful girl who is larger than life-kind of like me-and so I was just saying things to protect her when they were calling her a 'slut' and a 'whore,' because she's not," she said. "The show is great and enhanced her personality. So, you know, that's why people were saying what they were saying when they were saying she's a little promiscuous. As a mother, I'm going to protect my daughter."

Among the things Corinne has received negative attention for is her admittance that she still has her nanny, Raquel, something she herself took to Instagram about after a Go Fund Me page was set up to try and 'free' her from 'slavery.'

Peri also stuck up for her daughter there, saying that Raquel is a treasured member of their family.

"What had happened was we were getting a lot of calls [at our business from fans] and then people were saying we were abusing [our nanny] Raquel," she said. "As a mother, I'm going to protect my daughter and of course somebody who's been with me for 17 years."

"The woman was with me while I survived cancer," she added. "Believe me, this woman could do no wrong. She can have anything she wants and she's a part of our family."

Peri also cleared up rumors Corinne was Nick's final pick and was engaged, after a photo of her with social media personality Claudia Oshry surfaced where she appeared to be wearing a diamond ring on her finger.

One of us is a Bachelorette contestant and the other has a nanny.

"It was the comedian's ring," Peri said. "They did it as a spoof! Actually, it's the comedian who's engaged. It's Claudia's ring. They wanted to do a little skit thing. A spoof."

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
