Wale enlisted Rihanna for the remix to his single Bad, giving the 25-year-old the hook to replace Tiara Thomas, who is on the original version.

The song was released on Monday.

"I'll be your bad girl, I'll prove it to you. I can't promise that I'll be good to you," sings Rihanna, who confirmed her reputation with the title of her third studio album Good Girl Gone Bad.

Working together sparked rumors that the two were dating. Wale made sure to let people know that those rumors are not accurate, saying, "Absolutely not" when asked if he has been intimate with the Stay singer.

"That turned into a real thing," Wale added, during an interview with Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club" in May. "I started to think this is going to mess up my potential working relationships."

He talked about their collaboration and the respect he has for the songstress. Wale appreciates her "realness."

"I can't really be cool with a lot girls that don't have ulterior motives," he said. "I really can't even be myself around them cause I'm always on my toes like 'what does she want from me?' But when you have a friend like that, who got more than you, more everything, like you just got to appreciate that friendship."

Wale's professional respect for Rihanna also encouraged him to ask her to be on the single's initial version. He told XXL in a March interview, "Whatever the case was I don't think it got to her."

Despite the miscommunication for the original, Rihanna's vocals made their way on the remix. The new track will appear on Wale's third studio album, titled The Gifted.

The rapper also released the album's full tracklist recently. Aside from Rihanna, the album will include collaborations from Nicki Minaj, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, Juicy J, Lyfe Jennings, Meek Mill and Yo Gotti.

The album, which hits stores on June 25, also holds one unusual appearance. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will be featured on the song Black Heroes / Outro About Nothing.
