Apple released its current variant of 12-inch MacBook in April 2016. With the notable upgrade in current device, Apple is planning to bring out latest 12-inch 2017 MacBook. The loyal heads of MacBook Air are still waiting for confirmation about this device and its outstanding features from the Cupertino-based giant.

Based on speculations regarding upcoming 12-inch 2017 MacBook, a varied list of features has been rounded up. In the event held in October 2016 for a launch of MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, Apple didn't update anything about the MacBook or MacBook Air product line. Apple discontinued the production and sales of 11-inch MacBook Air which directed a doubt about 12-inch 2017 MacBook which may replace the Air line-up.

It is mentioned that the new MacBook will be having Kaby Lake processors where Kaby Lake is the generation of chips after Skylake and its also offers supporter for Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 and Display Port 1.2. A Dutch-language site Techtastic spotted a reference in the kernel of Mac OS Sierra to "ARM HURRICANE" being supported which indicated that Apple might place ARM chips in its MacBook. We also received a rumor which claimed that Apple is working on a chip codenamed as T310 which will handle the "Power Nap" functionality and will improve the battery life of MacBook. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo states that there is chance RAM size will be increased to 16 GB from 8 GB. As far as the design is concerned, no major changes will be seen as only a new color variant was introduced more to 2016 MacBook from 2015 MacBook. The patent described by the US Patent and Trademark office will allow the company to embed LTE hardware in 2017 MacBook by making it as the first cellular-enabled Mac in Apple's range. Minor changes in keyboard and trackpad are also been done.
