The Hollywood Reporter reported that "Legion" Season 1 has high ratings. The series got a 93 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also got a Metacritic score of 82. These ratings are high for a new show. It is indicated that the show which is created by Noah Howley has taken less from the comics.

It actually has been created to be original and somewhat different from the "X-Men" stories. The series focuses more on the mental issues that the characters are experiencing in "Legion" Season 1. The fans will be taken into a new light on how the main character becomes a mutant.

Meanwhile, Polygon reported that Hawley has been criticized for the show's storyline. It is indicated that there were critics about sacrificing substance for style. However, Hawley shared that the story will be much appreciated at the end of "Legion" Season 1.
