"Mr. Robot" Season 3 is set to return later this year. A new character is set to join the series and will be portrayed by Bobby Cannavale of "Boardwalk Empire."

According to Independent, "Mr. Robot" Season 3 is set to answer the cliffhanging conclusion of the previous season. It also brings back the original casts Rami Malek and Christian slater. Aside from the two original stars of the series, Bobby Cannavale is also set to join in the series.

"Mr. Robot" Season 3 will also explore each character's challenge for the upcoming season. The ten episode season will still be written and directed by Sam Esmail. Chris McCumber, the President of Entertainment Networks for NCBUniversal Cable Entertainment shared that the team is glad to bring back Esmail and his work. Fans will also be led to Elliot's (Rami Malek) journey in the upcoming season.

Econo Times reported that "Mr. Robot" Season 3 is slated to start production in April. Bobby Cannavale is reported to be part of the series in the upcoming season. There are no details yet about his role. Cannavale is known for his works with "Third Watch," Will & Grace," and "Boardwalk Empire."

It is also indicated that Esmail is to be the director of "Mr. Robot" Season 3 same as he directed Season 2. This upcoming season will bring in more plot to the story as Elliot's journey continues. The characters will face more challenges and the same time the series will provide answers to what happened in the story previously.

Meanwhile, Deadline reported that BD Wong was being upped to being a series regular in "Mr. Robot" Season 3. Wong portrays the role of Whiterose in the series. He is the enigmatic transgender in the series. Whiterose is also the leader of a Chinese hacking org. called the Dark Army in the show.

"Mr. Robot" Season 3 is set to air Oct. 2017.
