Gary Shirley wants more kids but unfortunately, he can't just go ahead and do so.

During a recent interview with In Touch Weekly magazine, the Teen Mom OG dad opened up about adding to his family, which currently includes his wife, Kristina Anderson, and his two daughters, including eight-year-old Leah Shirley, who he shares with his former girlfriend, Amber Portwood.

"Actually Kristina had gotten her tubes tied. I would love to have more kids," he explained to the magazine. "It's the hassle of taking care of them because your relationship gets put on the back burner. Maybe one day we will go back and untie them. Maybe fostering, that was something we were interested in. And you can adopt through fostering."

In addition to Shirley's daughter with Portwood, he also shares a two-year-old daughter named Emilee with his wife and shares a nine-year-old daughter named Karly with her former husband, Greg Anderson.

While Shirley doesn't yet know whether or not he and Anderson will have her tubes untied or chose to adopt, he's confident in Leah's big sister potential either way.

"Leah tries to be the big sister and the big mama so it helps out quite a bit," Shirley told the magazine. "Leah does an amazing job of being a big sister. She wants to take her toys still. But I tell her that one day this girl is going to look up and want to be everything that you are and she will idolize you one day."

Gary Shirley and his co-stars, including Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout, Taylor McKinney, Catelynn Lowell, Tyler Baltierra, and Farrah Abraham, are currently in production on the seventh season of Teen Mom OG. No word yet on when the new installment will air on MTV.
