Mariah Carey is recovering from a shocking robbery after burglars broke into her Los Angeles home this week.

The details are still uncertain but Carey was not home. Instead, she was in New York City.

As for the items stolen, word is the perps got a hold of $50,000 worth of purses and sunglasses, TMZ reported Thursday. The site added that considering the price tag on Carey’s belongings, this could have been less than ten items taken.

The robbers allegedly gained entry into her home using a ladder as the object was discovered in her backyard. Word is they went through a window or door on a top floor of the lavish mansion. They managed to “trip” a silent alarm, but Carey’s security team didn’t realize anything was wrong until 6 or 7 the next morning.

Carey has now joined the likes of David Spade, Scott Disick, Alanis Morisette, Emmy Rossum and Jason Derulo, whose homes were also broken into this year.
