Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton fans shouldn't expect to see the couple tie the knot in any sort of future blow-out wedding ceremony.

While fans would surely love to see just that, a source is speaking out against the ongoing rumors of a wedding between the couple and revealing that they may actually make their two-year relationship official by eloping.

“They know that is going to be a big deal when they finally get themselves married,” a source close to the couple explained to Hollywood Life on Nov. 6. “So much so that they are considering just eloping and then having a big party to celebrate with friends and family."

Stefani and Shelton have been dating for over two years and faced engagement rumors and pregnancy rumors ever since they went public with their romance in November 2015 during a Country Music Awards after party in Nashville, Tennessee.

Although Stefani and Shelton haven't confirmed plans to get married or welcome children, the Hollywood Life source went on to reveal that they would love to get married and not make a big deal about the celebration.

"They love each other and that is not going to change if they don’t have a big wedding," the insider continued. "They’ve been married before and feel they don’t have to go all out and make a big deal out of it. It’s something that has been discussed on a few occasions so they are definitely thinking about it being one of their options since they’ll be getting married eventually anyways.”

Stefani and Shelton may not be engaged or married quite yet but when it comes to their current lives, they are very much living and acting as a family with Stefani's three sons Kingston, 11, Zuma, 9, and Apollo, 3. As fans will recall, Stefani welcomed her three sons during her 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale, which ended in August 2015, just weeks after Shelton's split from Miranda Lambert was confirmed.

Shelton was also married once before but has no children from either marriage. That said, he appears to have fans in Stefani's children, who recently sported temporary tattoos that matched his barbed wire armband.
