Redaric Williams joined the Young and the Restless in 2012 and the Michigan native has seen his Tyler Michaelson become the spoiler between fan favorites Cane and Lily.

For the past few months, Tyler has been tempted the very married Lily. This week, Lily may finally respond to Tyler's advances. Williams granted an interview, published on June 16, to Soap Opera Network about playing the interloper between "Lane".

"I think love is a stretch," Williams said. "He sees it; it's like the light at the end of the tunnel. But he's in a tunnel. He's really in a tunnel. So love is this little glimmer off in the distance."

Williams said that his alter ego simply wanted love and may not just want an affair with the object of his affections. The 32-year-old said that his character would continue to reach out for love.

"You see that playing out: He's reaching, he's reaching, he's reaching. And you're going to see that the tunnel that I [mentioned] has a lot of twists and turns and ups and downs," he said.

However, he hinted that Tyler may not be the nice guy he has presented himself to be. The fans can expect to see a different side to the executive in the weeks to come.

"He changes a lot," he said. "What you see right now is not what you're going to get."

Until those scenes play out, Williams expressed being thankful that he had made it to this point. The actor said that Y&R had such high standards and he worried about bringing his best to the long running CBS soap opera.

"I was worried about everything: I was worried about the crease in my shirt to the way my eyebrow moved, anything you could imagine. Anything and everything you could think of," he said.

The real life musician said that he only wanted to pull his own weight. He did not want to be the weak link on the ensemble drama.

"You get the sense of, 'Okay, I don't want to mess up. I've got to make sure that I do what I'm supposed to do, that I pull my portion of the rope," he said.
