Carrie Underwood is still on the road to recovery after falling on the steps of her house in November last year.

The Accident

The country singer suffered multiple injuries, including a broken wrist, after taking a tumble on the steps of her house in Nashville on Nov. 10.

She was forced to cancel her appearance at the Country Rising benefit concert two days later. Underwood's husband and former NHL player, Mike Fisher, whom she married in 2010, also flew in early from a hunting excursion to be by his wife's side. However, the extent of her injuries was not known until now.

Underwood Reveals Additional Injuries

The American Idol winner revealed that she also injured her face in the accident, for which she had to get dozens of stitches.

In a letter to her fans, Underwood said she had to get 40 to 50 stitches on her face and she might not look like she used to when they see her again.

"There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up," she wrote in the letter. "It's crazy how a freak random accident can change your life."

The 34-year-old then added that not only did she break her wrist in the accident, she severly injured her face too. She chose to leave out the details but did point out that after her wrist surgery on the night of the incident, the doctors told Fisher that she would require 40 to 50 stitches on her face due to all the cuts and abrasions suffered in the fall.

Underwood No Longer Looks The Same

The "Remind Me" hitmaker continued by saying that although she is on the road to recovery, she is "not quite looking the same."

She also stated that even though she doesn't know how everything will eventually turn out, she is thankful that the accident wasn't "much worse" and also expressed her appreciation for all those people in her life that helped her through the ordeal.

Underwood concluded her letter by revealing her aim to make 2018 an amazing year and sharing it with her fans but gave them heads up that when they see her, there is a possibility that she might look a little different.

She shared a selfie on Instagram a few days ago, but left most of her face covered with a scarf, revealing only her eyes. Check out the post below:
