Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin's relationship ended nearly two years ago. But could the Teen Mom 2 couple reconcile in the future?

During a recent appearance on the Coffee Convos podcast with host Lindsey Chrisley, Marroquin and Lowry explained that because their relationship had been so troubled during their three-year marriage, a reunion is highly unlikely — if not completely impossible.

“I just think there’s a lot of history between us that neither one of us will ever let go," Marroquin explained, according to a report by Us Weekly magazine on Jan. 25. "Even if we were to try it again in the future it wouldn’t work just because I know the type of person I am, and the type of person she is and we argue. It just wouldn’t happen.”

“Javi argues out of passion,” Lowry explained. “Javi is a habitual arguer and a never-letter-goer. Javi for sure needs to choose his battles.”

Marroquin agreed with his wife and said that because of their frequent tension and arguments, it simply wouldn't be healthy if they were to rekindle their relationship. He also explained his alleged passion for arguments, stating that he is a reactive person who doesn't always think things through. Instead, he just reacts.

As for the couple's tell-all book series, He Said, She Said, which was put on hold after Marroquin went public with his now-ex-girlfriend, Briana DeJesus, Lowry said she hoped to move forward with their writings. She also said that Marroquin's relationship kept them from touring together and thus, put a stop to the publication of the books. Now, however, they can finish their books the right way and focus on the coparenting aspect of their relationship.

Marroquin went on to say that he and Lowry have to quit talking about their relationship publicly. In recent years, the couple has been known to diss one another on Twitter and Instagram and looking back, they are now aware that their pattern of online slams was quite unhealthy and needs to come to an end.

To see more of Kailyn Lowry, Javi Marroquin, and their costars, including Briana DeJesus, Corey Simms, Jeremy Calvert, Leah Messer, Jenelle Evans, Nathan Griffith, David Eason, Chelsea Houska, and Cole DeBoer, don't miss new episodes of Teen Mom 2 when the series returns to MTV later this year.
