Briana DeJesus reacted to MTV’s decision to remove David Eason from their Teen Mom 2 cast after his homophobic rant on Twitter days ago.

Hours after MTV confirmed that they would no longer be working with Jenelle Evans’ husband due to his shocking rant against the LGBT community, DeJesus released a statement to voice her thoughts on the surprising turn of events.

“It’s a sensitive topic... I am Jenelle’s friend and I’m here to support her by any means necessary,” DeJesus told Blasting News on Feb. 21.

While the majority of the Teen Mom 2 cast has been unfriendly towards DeJesus and kept her out of their group due to her past relationship with Kailyn Lowry’s ex-husband, Javi Marroquin, Evans welcomed her. During a visit to Los Angeles at the end of last year, the two women were seen spending time with one another on set.

Forgivable Mistake

Although DeJesus is supportive of Evans, she went on to say that Eason made a mistake and will hopefully learn from his harsh statements aimed at the LGBT community.

“Love is love at the end of the day. Doesn’t matter what preferences you have or ur skin color. We should all be treated equally," DeJesus said.

DeJesus acknowledged that while not everyone will agree with her, nor will they be as forgiving, she believes that people should be allowed to make mistakes and noted that she wishes Eason the best.

DeJesus continued that the incident involving Eason's social media remark that resulted in his firing has made her realize just how invested the public is in her and her co-stars' affairs.

"Our voices will be heard.. good or bad. So I think being on 'Teen Mom 2' we really have to take advantage of this opportunity to be heard.. in a good way of course,” she added.

DeJesus joined the cast of Teen Mom 2 during its eighth season last year and has continued to star on the series in a full-time role ever since. Before her role on Teen Mom 2, DeJesus appeared alongside Mackenzie McKee, Alexandria Sekella, and Katie Yeager in Teen Mom 3.

DeJesus and her co-stars, including Jenelle Evans, Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer, and Chelsea Houska, will return to MTV later this year for the new season of Teen Mom 2. As yet, there is no word on how Evans feels about her husband's exit.
