Academy-Award winning actress Nicole Kidman surely knows how to surprise fans every once in a while. While heading out to prepare for Oscars 2018, the Big Little Lies star greeted a couple of fans aboard a bus for the Access Hollywood tour.

As posted on Instagram, Kidman was seen in the most natural look on her way to Dolby Theater for the 90th Academy Awards. She rolled out her car window and slightly leaned forward, which was an absolute surprise to the people on the bus.

"Hi everyone," Kidman greeted, which was followed by gushes and squeals from the fans who then recognized her.

One of the fans complimented Kidman for being beautiful, to which the 50-year-old actress replied she is yet to do her hair and makeup. Kidman, who was seated in the backseat with a female companion, was visibly having a good time as they drove past the tour bus.

The Famous Oscar Clap

In 2017, Kidman made headlines for clapping weirdly during the 89th Oscar Awards. In a video clip that made rounds on Twitter, Kidman as seen clapping only with the bottom part of her palms. Fans thought it was funny, but the actress' explanation was perceived as even more hilarious.

In an interview with the Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O, host Kyle Sandilands had a theory on Kidman's famous clap.

"I believe you were clapping like that because you had the rings on and you didn't want to damage the rings," Sandilands said.

Kidman responded in complete agreement, saying that she was more concerned about the ring being damaged, but she still wanted to applaud the winner.

"I'm so glad you clarified that because it was really awkward! I was like gosh, I want to clap, I don't want to not be clapping, which would be worse, right? 'Why isn't Nicole clapping?'" Kidman explained.

The ring Kidman was referring to is a 13.58-carat Harry Winston pear-shaped diamond ring. Each stone assembled together totaled 119 carats of expensive stones.

Big Little Lies

Although the Cold Mountain star was not nominated for an Oscars this year, Kidman has received multiple recognitions for the HBO miniseries Big Little Lies.

Kidman won the Emmy and Golden Globe awards for best actress for his performance of Celeste Wright for David E. Kelley's TV drama. The actress also snatched the award for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie by the Screen Actors Guild.
