If his royal status doesn't pan out for Prince George, Prince William says his son already has a back-up plan in mind: the police force.

Prince William attended the reception for the Metropolitan Police's Met Excellence Awards with brother Prince Harry last Tuesday, March 13. During the event, the Duke of Cambridge revealed his son's admiration for cops.

Young Prince 'Obsessed' With Police

When police commissioner Jayne Richardson spoke about a few districts looking for more officer volunteers, he quipped that Prince George and Princess Charlotte may be interested in signing up.

"[George] is obsessed, actually, by the police ... cars, toys, everything," William says, according to Vanity Fair.

The 4-year-old is third in line to the throne, so Prince George may not have the chance to pursue a career in Scotland Yard. For now, though, the young prince is just like any other little boy endlessly fascinated with policemen.

In December, William delivered his son's handwritten wishlist for Father Christmas in Finland. For the holidays, George is asking for only a single gift: a police car.

"I've seen you, and I had to give you this letter, " William tells Santa good-naturedly, according to E! News. "He hasn't written down many requests, so I think one request is probably okay."

Aside from a love for Scotland Yard, Prince George enjoys watching movies with his father, says the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. Paddington, Coco, Lion King, and Octonauts are a few of his current favorites.

Meanwhile, his 2-year-old sister Princess Charlotte prefers another hobby: dancing. Hello Magazine reported that William shared his daughter's love for performing in a conversation with Malta prime minister Joseph Muscat and his family.

New Sibling On The Way

George is about to become a big brother of two with his parents expecting a new baby in April. William and Kate announced the good news last September, although very few details have been confirmed by the couple.

Both George and Princess Charlotte are excited to meet their new sibling, which hasn't been confirmed as a boy or girl so far. Their parents, on the other hand, are relaxed about their third child.

"They're taking each day as it comes," a source tells Us Weekly in October 2017. "After you've had two children, the third usually feels like somewhat of a breeze so they're just focused on Kate and the baby's health right now."
