Anne Hathaway is getting ahead of body shamers who will criticize her in the coming months. She announces she's getting a few weight for a role.

The 35-year-old actress preemptively made the step in her Instagram post that shares a clip of her lifting and working out. Hathaway is informing the public that she intends to gain weight for a project but did so fiercely.

"To all the people who are going to fat shame me in the upcoming months, it's not me, it's you. Peace xx," the Devil Wears Prada star wrote.

The clip showed Hathaway doing some serious bench presses and push-ups. She continued she was supposed to set the video to Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls," but that copyright didn't permit her to do so. The role she is referring to, she did not elaborate. However, the award-winning actress was reported to have landed a role in O2, a sci-fi thriller based from the novel The Last Thing He Wanted.

Not a First

Notably, this isn't the first time Hathaway had done some measures for body shamers that seemed to be everywhere. In 2016, she had spoken of body image, particularly of moms who have been pressured to lose weight immediately after giving birth.

In her Instagram post, she shared a photo of a pair of jeans that she cut into knee-length. Hathaway further added that there's nothing wrong with gaining weight during pregnancy, or not for that matter.

"Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink. It's all love (don't let anyone tell you otherwise.)," she wrote.

Kelly Ripa's Bikini Photo

Hathaway is not the first prominent personality either who lambasted those who scrutinize them every now and then. Kelly Ripa, host of Live With Kelly and Ryan, was the recent to take the harsh brunt of brutal comments on her bikini photo uploaded by his husband, Riverdale actor Mark Consuelos, on social media.

Many cited her age as a factor of inappropriateness of wearing a bikini. Consuelos rushed to her rescue and even released a stinging statement, saying people should get used to Ripa wearing bikinis because she'll continue to do so.

Body-Shaming Rihanna

Singer Rihanna last year also had a fair share of dealing with body shamers. In a blatant and distasteful move, men's magazine Barstool Sports shared an article that centered around the Fenty Beauty makeup line owner titled "Is Rihanna Going to Make Fat The Hot New Trend?"

It has since been deleted, but not long before the Diamonds singer got a wind of the shameful article. Rihanna then uploaded two photos of Gucci Mane, one from 2007 and another from 2017.
