Big Little Lies is adding another heavy-hitter for its sophomore season, and Nicole Kidman is letting the fans have a peek.

Welcoming Meryl Streep Into The Fold

Kidman took to Instagram to share a snap of her television children chilling with the newest member of their idyllic California neighborhood - Meryl Streep.

In the photo, the two women are sitting on the floor while looking at a tablet alongside the young actors Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti, who play Kidman's sons in the HBO series.

"First day on the set with Meryl and 'my' boys!" Kidman wrote on the caption of the photo.

Streep Joins The Emmy-Winning Series

Earlier this year, the show announced the newest addition to the cast of Big Little Lies. Streep plays the role of Mary Louise Wright, the mother-in-law of Kidman's character Celeste. Alexander Skarsgård, who played Celeste's husband, Perry, in the first season, is also expected to return in some capacity, according to Hollywood Reporter.

It's unknown if Streep will be a sympathetic ear to Celeste or a terrifying presence like her son. Irrespective of her role's character, the three-time Oscar winner is sure to hit it out of the park. Streep's appearance in Big Little Lies is her first television role since her Emmy-winning performance in the mini-series Angels in America in 2003.

"Reese and I were just [thinking], 'She would be so amazing in the role!'" Kidman tells Entertainment Tonight in February, adding that the cast and crew appreciate Streep's faith and support of the show.

"We're determined to give her an extraordinary experience," she continues. "She's had a lot of experiences so we just want to make it fun for her and vibrant and exciting."

Other Ladies Of The Show

Streep may be getting the spotlight now due to her unexpected comeback on television, but it's worth noting that Big Little Lies has an impressive returning cast.

Kidman will be back on the streets of Monterey, California together with the rest of the season one stars Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, and Zoë Kravitz. Adam Scott has also been confirmed to return.

Kravitz has already gone on Instagram to share a photo of herself donning her character Bonnie's long braids once again. The actress' selfie shows not only that she will be sporting the same bohemian look as she did in the first season, but also that the cast is now filming for the highly anticipated sophomore season.

Season 2 will consist of seven episodes.

Big Little Lies returns on HBO in 2019.
