Days leading to the anticipated premiere of the Avengers: Infinity War, details are beginning to trickle down. It turns out, Carrie Coon is Proxima Midnight.

The action-packed Marvel film is star-studded, to say the least, but it seemed that the cast is getting bigger and bigger. Recently, Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors, revealed that Fargo star Coon is one to give help to Thanos.

Proxima Midnight is the only woman villain from the Black Order. Coon is lending her voice to the deadly character that came to light in 2013 in the New Avengers No. 8 comics written by Jonathan Hickman. Not only that, she has also performed for facial motion capture for the role. This was confirmed by The Leftovers actress via a tweet on Monday.

Confirmation

"It's true! My voice and a dazzle of gifted animators have teamed up to play Proxima Midnight. To be fair my face is in there somewhere. #MoCapWhilePregnant," the 37-year-old wrote.

In the comics, Proxima Midnight is the wife of Corvus Glaive, another member of the Black Order, though it is still uncertain if that will play out in Avengers: Infinity War. The voice for the latter character remains to be the secret among Thanos's henchmen.

There are speculations that Game of Thrones's Peter Dinklage will play the role, since it was long confirmed that he will be joining the star-studded cast as an undisclosed character. Other Black Order members are Ebony Maw, voiced by Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, and Cull Obsidian, played by Terry Notary.

Coon is notably and arguably one of the most in-demand actresses nowadays. Tied to her name is her character, Gloria Burgle, in the hit FX comedy crime series Fargo, for which she had earned a Primetime Emmy nomination. She also bagged a TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Drama last year for the series.

Of late, she appeared in The Post, a Steven Spielberg thriller film, and The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter, a comedy movie directed by Jody Hill. Interestingly, she played the ex-wife of Josh Brolin in the comedy film. Brolin voiced Thanos in the Avengers: Infinity War. Coon has just finished shooting for Jonathan and Josh Baker's Kin, as well as Widows, a crime film by Steve McQueen.

Apart from Fargo, Coon also plays Nora Durst in HBO's The Leftovers. For her portrayal, she received acclamation when she won the Critics' Choice Television Award for best actress in drama series.
