Wrestling couple John Cena and Nikki Bella shockingly called off their engagement last month. There's still hope for a reunion, though, according to Bella.

On The Promo Circuit

The WWE Superstars got engaged at Wrestlemania last year, in front of thousands of ecstatic fans, only to call off their wedding just weeks before it was due to take place.

With the new season of reality show Total Bellas debuting on E! this Sunday, Bella is doing the rounds alongside twin sister Brie to promote the series.

A big part of the upcoming season will be the planning of the doomed wedding, which will form the basis of the finale.

When asked about Cena, the reality star and pro-athlete admitted she still believes Cena is the one.

There's Still Hope

The 34-year-old opened up in an interview with People Wednesday, telling the publication she's still hopeful they can work things out and get married someday.

"Only time can tell. I definitely do [think we will get married]. I think he's Mr. Right. He's Prince Charming. He's an amazing man. I hope that our paths do come back together and I think they will," she revealed.

Bella called off her engagement to 40-year-old Blockers star just three weeks before they were due to tie the knot. She allegedly decided to end things due to being made to feel like Cena was only marrying her out of pity.

Their differing stances on marriage and kids were major plot points on Total Bellas and its spinoff, Total Divas.

Keeping In Touch

Earlier this week, Cena announced during a TV interview that he wanted to get back with Bella, making an emotional and seemingly heartfelt plea to her in front of the entire nation.

"I love her, I want to be with her, I want to make her my wife, I want to be the father of her children, I just want us to work," he said.

The Dancing with the Stars alum confirmed in her interview this week that she and Cena have stayed in contact since ending their six-year relationship.

"John and I love each other so much. We are best friends. I think, you know, we both are very mature about all of this, knowing we are in the spotlight, and we both definitely have hope for us together in the future. We definitely have talked," she said.

All Will Be Revealed

Bella also teased that fans will see where it all fell apart in the upcoming season of Total Bellas, suggesting the stress of wedding planning may have had a significant impact on their relationship breaking down.

The cameras even reportedly caught the moment the couple decided to call off their plans, with Cena telling Bella he didn't want to force her not to be a mother and suggesting maybe they shouldn't go through with the wedding as a result.

As for what she'd do if they got married in future, the WWE women's champion reckons that the wedding would be about the same as she'd planned this time around.
