John Cena is changing his mind about having children. Fresh from his split from Nikki Bella, the WWE Superstar is reconsidering his approach to life.

The wrestler was always adamant about having children, something that formed the basis of an ongoing story-line on the reality show Total Divas and its Bella-centric spinoff Total Bellas.

Cena's attitude to kids is also said to have been a significant reason for why he split from fiance Bella.

Now, it seems the Blockers star is changing his tune. Not only does he want to get Bella back any way he can, but Cena has apparently had a complete change of heart about the idea of fatherhood in general.

Telling TMZ that he's completely changed his outlook on life as a result of growing as a person, Cena admitted that he would relish the challenge of raising children.

"I would love to be a dad ... and I realize very much that I have been steadfast in saying that I don't want children," he admitted.

The 15-time WWE champion acknowledged that he had been focused on work his whole life, but he now realizes, as a grown man, that there's more to life than just that.

"I dedicated my life to my work and now I'm realizing that there is life and life exists and it's beautiful and I think part of that is being a parent," he said.

He even claimed he'd let his future child follow in his footsteps into the wrestling ring, just as his parents always supported his dreams.

They're Taking It Day By Day

On his future with Bella, Cena said the two are still very close, but didn't confirm whether they are back together. He did reiterate, though, that he'd consider marrying her if the time was right again.

The WWE Superstar was always firmly against fatherhood. When he and Bella got engaged, at Wrestlemania last year, she even told E! News at the time that she wasn't hoping for a baby regardless of the ring.

The two shocked fans by calling off their engagement just a few weeks ahead of walking down the aisle in April. The two have subsequently engaged in public declarations of love ahead of the new series of Total Bellas, which is currently showing Sundays on E! and charts their relationship breakdown.

The two were spotted in San Diego together just last week, with a rep confirming that they are still best friends.

"[They] are working on their relationship and taking it day by day. They appreciate all of their fans and their continued support," the rep advised.

Cena and Bella were together for six years total, with their relationship even spilling into the ring as an ongoing story-line on WWE.
