In the season finale of Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta season 2, Stevie J responds to Joseline Hernandez's marriage proposal.

In the preview below, Stevie J tells Hernandez that he will keep the ring she gave him, but he needs more time to decide whether he's ready to walk down the isle with her.

"I'm going to say that we got time and I'm going put this on," Stevie tells Hernandez. "I'm not going say yes and I'm not going say no. We got time and I want to keep this though cause you're special to me."

He also told Hernandez that his decision to delay his response to her proposal is a result of past experiences.

"I'm feeling like it could happen but I've traveled down this road before and I don't want to hurt you, and I don't want you to hurt me," he explained.

Stevie J suggested that he and Hernandez should be "life partners" until he makes his decision and is ready to fully commit to her.

Stevie J explained in his confessional that he held off on giving Hernandez a decisive answer because "patience is the key to everything."

Hernandez said that because the music producer kept the ring, she is confident they will eventually make their union official.

"I'll accept that answer for right now, I know I just have to work just a little bit harder," she said.

In last week's episode, Hernandez said she decided to propose because "it's now or never." The couple was in her hometown of Ponce, Puerto Rico, to shoot the music video for her first single, Mi Colta.

After they filmed the video, Hernandez told Stevie J she fell in love with him again. When he responded by asking her what she wants to do about her renewed feelings for him, she said she wanted to be with him and make money together forever.

"You never said forever so much to me in your life," Stevie J said.

Hernandez then presented him with a ring.

"I think that we should make things happen, so I went out and got you a gift," Hernandez said. "I want you to think about what we spoke on before we came to Puerto Rico and....maybe you're ready to marry me."

The season finale of Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta Season 2 will premiere at 8 p.m. EST/7 Central on VH1 on Monday, July 29.
