Kanye West seemingly developed a fear of losing people after his mother, Donda, died.

In the past weeks, West has been trying to pursue Kim Kardashian after losing her to Pete Davidson. While his pleas look dramatic to the public, the rapper's recent actions seemingly root from the struggles he faced when he lost his mother, Donda.

The new three-part documentary of the rapper on Netflix, titled "Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy," features past clips of the rapper with his late mother, Donda, who died in 2007.

In one part, Donda told him, "You play tracks like Michael Jordan shoots free throws." At that time, West was already working as a producer who wanted to become a rapper.

She added that West always does something he loves to do.

This resonated with what director Clarence "Coodie" Simmons said, saying that West wanted Donda more the bigger he got.

"I couldn't imagine the pain that Kanye was feeling," he said, as quoted by Yahoo! Entertainment. "Donda was his everything."

Kanye West's Mental Health Explored

In the same documentary, Coodie said that he felt concerned for West's life when news about his hospitalization emerged. He reportedly had no idea that he was struggling with his mental health.

"It was difficult watching Kanye on TV, knowing he had issues with his mental health. They were calling him crazy," he added. "But, to me, it seemed like he was crying out for help. In the past, Kanye might have rubbed folks the wrong way, but, for the first time, it felt like he really lost the people."

Kardashian indeed saw that side of West that she once wanted to help him as long as she could.

The "Follow God" singer went through a lot in 2019 that he became a problem, making his wife think of divorcing him.

West started to make the headlines after dropping his "Jesus Is King" album and holding a weekly Sunday service. Moreover, he seemed to get all the blessings from the universe when he announced the plans on his unique global tour.

Kardashian knew that her husband tends to throw rants and say unusual things whenever an episode is coming. She got too concerned over West's mental issues that she finally displayed her worries about her husband and his mental health.

Unfortunately, she became a victim of his mental health issues, as well, that it pushed her to finally divorce West.
