It looks as though someone uttered the words Beetlejuice three times because the pinstriped poltergeist is coming back to theaters after nearly 25 years and Brad Pitt of all people is getting it done.

No. Pitt isn't playing the titular role. Michael Keaton has got that covered and is confirmed to reprise the role he made famous back in 1988. Instead Pitt is stepping in as producer of the sequel with his company Plan B. But who, if anyone, from the original cast did they scare up to return?

Lydia Deetz for one. Confirmed by Yahoo! News and The Ankler Winona Ryder will be returning as the woman who can talk to ghosts, but unfortunately, any other characters have yet to be determined at this time. Although, director Tim Burton is very likely to come back to helm the film. Which is great news, because the heart of the film not only comes from it's leads, but from the visionary mind of Burton with his magnificent mind for comedic macabre.

This wouldn't be the first time Beetlejuice has been bandied about for a sequel, given the film grossed $75 Million, snagged an Oscar for Best Make-Up, and became an overnight classic. One of the craziest ideas for a follow-up came a couple of years later with the nearly green lit screenplay Beetlejuice Goes Hawiian. Yeah, it's exactly like it sounds. Needless to say, the film never came to fruition, but instead gave way to a cartoon series where Beetlejuice and Lydia were fast friends getting into spooky adventures, as well as a Broadway musical.

It is great to see that at much of the principle creatives are back on board, though one question remains. Where is Catherine O'Hara? I guess only time will tell if she will make a return to the franchise.

There is no release date as of yet, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see when the ghost with the most will be coming back from the grave. Know what I mean?
