Lynda Baron, a famous actress who had worked in the television and movie industry over several decades, has passed away at the age of 82.

Her agent confirmed the "Nurse Gladys" star's death for 30 years, Donna French, saying, "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved client Lynda Baron." (via The Guardian)

Her agent described her as someone who was a "leading light of our world." Baron was also said to be funny and clever while working professionally.

None of her family members have opened up about her actual cause of death despite the announcement.

According to Comicbook, Baron's professional career took off at Liverpool Empire when she was 16 years old.

In a previous interview, as reported by the BBC, the actress said her first job was a "start," She had never been "quite busy" since then.

Following this, Baron went on to appear in several acting stints in the 1960s, including "Up Pompeii," "Crossroads," and two of her most notable roles in "Doctor Who" and "Open All Hours" starring alongside Ronnie Barker and David Jason.

The actress was also a big name in BBC's television shows, including her role as Linda Clarke in the soap "East Enders."

She also played the role of Jane Beale starting in 2006, but it was inconsistent as it's not a recurring character. However, she returned between 2008 and 2009.

Baron's acting had paid off in 2011 as she was nominated for a Bafta for her performance in "The Road to Coronation Street," a show about the early days of the soap in which she portrayed Violet Carson.

In addition to the films and shows above, she also starred in "Dream Horse" in 2020 alongside Joanna Page and Damian Lewis, the 2006 movie "Scoop" and 2005's "Colour Me Kubrick."

Baron's career did not only span in the show business as she was also a theatre actor. She starred in several musicals like "An Inspector Calls, Stepping Out," "Celebration," "Follies," "The Full Monty," and more.

After the news of her death circulated online, many of her former peers took to social media to send their deepest condolences to the family and pay tribute to the late actress.

Her former co-star, Lisa Riley, thanked Baron for playing her mother in "Fat Friends," saying she learned so much from her and her energy will live on forever.
