"Kids" PLURAL?! More Evidence To Suggest Rihanna and ASAP Rocky Are Having Twins
Alright everyone.
When we first learned about Rihanna and ASAP Rocky were expecting a child, we celebrated! Congratulations! Amazing!
Then, we started asking some questions.
What questions were we asking? Well, by piecing together small clues and tiny tidbits dropped by the star, we began to develop a theory: We think Rihanna is having twins.
We posted TikTok videos about it. We wrote an article. Many called us out for reading too far into to random and disconnected details. We got quiet on the issue, but do not be deceived. We did not give up. We simply vanished, to lie in wait, gathering more clues.
Now, as Rihanna enters her third trimester, we too are entering a new stage: a stage where we can speak with one iota more credibility about our prediction that Rihanna is, in fact, having twins.
(Disclaimer: is this ABSOLUTELY conjecture based on circumstantial evidence? Yes. But it'll be a good time. Also, won't it be so fun if we're right?)
1. KIDS
In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Rihanna was sharing her intentions to be a powerful mom who protects her children at all cost. She said that if anyone crosses her children, she will be, "Psycho about it. Flip a table. Worse. You talk about my kids, it's over."
The most notable part of this quote? She said, "kids." Not, "kid." KIDS. PLURAL KIDS. MULTIPLE KIDS. Is this a grammatical slip that inherently admits to the fact that she is expecting to be a mother of MULTIPLE children come her due date?
2. The Gang
Now, there was some debate about this one, but we still think that it lends itself quite well to the Is It Twins? discussion. In February, Rihanna posted an album on Instagram. In the first photo, she is looking down at her stomach. The caption reads, "how the gang pulled up to black history month." "Gang" implies more than two people. Could it be that she, in this first photo, is suggesting that it's more than her and ONE child being photographed? Commenters pointed out that this could be including A$AP as well (who is included in later images), but we think that may be a useful cover to better hide her subtle hint.
3. Gigi Hadid
Oops, Ha-did it again! Apparently, while we were eagle-eyed to Rihanna referencing, "the Gang," others were obsessing over a conversation sparking comment from Gigi Hadid. According to an article on Pinkvilla, Hadid commented on the same Instagram album, "three angels," leading many to think that Rihanna twin-gate had been confirmed. Hadid quickly backtracked, saying that the three she was counting were Rihanna, ASAP, and the baby. You know what we have to say to that? via GIPHY
4. Announcement Outfit
When Rihanna and A$AP first shared photos, announcing they were going to have [at least one] child, the outfits they chose to wear to the shoot must be taken note of. A$AP Rocky is wearing blue, and Rihanna is wearing pink. As we know, these colors are sterotypically associated with boys and girls, respectively.
This was definitely not a coincidence. (Do you SEE how much thought and staging went into these photos?!) The question then becomes this: are they alluding to the fact that they don't know the gender, or are they secretly telling the world that they are expecting both a boy and a girl?
5. The Due Date
Okay, so we know that we don't know exactly when this baby is due. We do, however, know that it is due sometime in the spring. For all of you calendar aficionados, that means the baby is due in March, April, or May (yes, March is largely winter and June is largely spring, but if you don't round those months into spring and summer you need to go check yourself.)
We can assume that Rihanna was hiding her baby bump back in September, when she and ASAP rolled up to the Met Gala red carpet rocking the high-fashion version of a Snuggie. That means that the star likely got pregnant in August. That would set the due date for the baby in either March or April.
As Rihanna, since her announcement, has been rocking halter tops and cute cut-outs, we know that her baby bump is officially a balloon that is ready to pop. If she is only having one child, that child is going to be here next week!
HOWEVER, if she is, in fact, not due until April, there is no WAY that there is only one child.
(Side note: can we talk about Rihanna's pregnancy fashion? It is ICONIC!)
6. Doesn't It Just Seem Right?!
Rihanna is one of the most iconic women in the world. She may be THE most iconic. Wouldn't just make sense for her to have twins? Plus, she could definitely keep that under-wraps better than any other celebrity. She could keep it under...her umbrella (eh, eh, eh!)
Only time will tell whether or not we are right about this one, but until then, we are just so happy that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are getting ready to welcome a new addition to the family!
